hurly recipe on PLANNING GOOD RESEARCH..

So as promise before, I would like to share the content of the symposium…it may help me to remind myself in the future..or it may help you guys out there..oh..saya sangat baik bukan??by the way..perlu diingatkan..ne note sendirian berhad..ape yang sempat di tulis sebab no soft copy or hard copy handouts were provided..so ada penambahan dan ada pengurangan dalam input ini..actually the tips is for PhD level..but I feel its ok to implement the tips into master level…apesalahnye kan… this symposium divide two ssession..first was PLANNING GOOD RESEARCH and MANAGING YOUR SUPERVISOR..and additional tips yang I rase sangat berguna.. So this is the tips of “Planning and managing a PhD research and working with your supervisor “ by Dr. Faridahwati bt Mohd Shamsuri


PLANING GOOD RESEARCH.

-1.hIGHLY mOTIVATE uRSELF-

research will take a long journey..so u need very2 strong motivation ..sometimes u may eagerly to research a topic..by then, in the middle of the way..you may feel bored..lame…sluggish to continue the topic…so be carefull with this…please search a good topic.

2.wORK eTHIC dISCIPLINE-

supervisor is just supervisor…don’t depend on them too much!


3. pROPOSAL dEFEND-

what is new for ur research??..please think a new thing for the research..


4. gOOD tIME mANAGEMENT-

How to handle ur “SLOW” time, supervisor may not supportive for all time, please carefully planning ur time implementation..and you may breaking down ur project into progressively smaller component..Its is brilliant to have ur own small note book..you may have think a brilliant idea when getting asleep or pee! Hahaha..or may be when u fart the idea appears out too! Kah3..prooooo00tttt..oppss


5. sYSTEMATIC.

You may have different file for different chapter. Let say..u have written a half of introduction..then the mood fade away..suddenly eagerly to do literature review..just do it.. but please make the output in proper way..dont mix up all chapter together..because u will buzzing with urself in the end of the day..

6. pAY a mUCHOS oF aTTENTION oN mETHOD cHAPTER..

the examiner always have an interest to ask- y u doing this? Y don’t u choose the another method? Hahaha..jaga2 ye bang..jangan kantoikan diri..


7.pLANNING uR tIME-

How long u should work each day? When u should work? Some people may need 8 hours per day for research and berpoya2 in weekend..or some people may need only 3 hours…actually, how long u spend time to research is not important..yang penting ialah..berapa banyakkah dapatan hasil anda? Kalo 12 jam bt research tapi tak dapat tulis ape2 pon..rasenye tak guna jugakan…BE TASK ORIENTED AND NOT TIME ORIENTED!..


8. pROBLEM sTATEMENT-

the most important part..kalo PS betul..everything gonna be ok..sebab ia menceritakan keseluruhan research kita..

9. gOOD sTRATEGIes-

kalo jupe lect first time..pastikan kita tunjuk sket2 dulu ..jangan dah siap whole chapter intro baru tunjuk..may be dia tak ske..dia akan suruh kita redo balik..rugi masa uolls! And do not try be smart..everything u do ur supervisor must agreed with that!

10. sYSTEMATIC wRITTEN-

don’t do part A and then skip to part G..do it systematic baby.. part A to Part B to Part C and so on..

11. dON’T pOSTPONED uR wORK- ye hal ini kena dengan aku…aduh! Terasa siut!


12. tHE ability to anticipate pROBLem-

must have back up plan. Plan A, B and C.. Macammana kalo responden tak mahu jawab questionnaires? Macammana company mula2 nak bagi kerjasama pastu tetiba je tak nak?? Tak ke haru..so mesti ada backup plan okeh!.
